Happy Mother’s Day!!

I was so busy yesterday, I didn’t even stop to go get my eyebrows waxed..forgot about my nails…

As I prepared for service this morning, I was also pondering what I should wear
Today is Mother’s Day and I am a mother..how should I wear my hair?
Then my mind immediately shifted…
How I look today doesn’t make me any more or less a mother
Doesn’t make me the worst or best of mothers
Today is a day we celebrate ourselves and one another
Give honor where it is due, to those who protect and cover
Who nurture and guide, who comfort and sacrifice
Who love unconditionally, and give everything without thinking twice
Those who teach and lead with grace
Who carry the heaviest burdens while managing to keep a smile on their face
While managing a career, a ministry, a family, a home
Sometimes while feeling tired, overwhelmed and alone
Going forward in the strength of God, even in chaos and despair
Learning to rest in His love and His peace, persevering through prayer
The look of a mother is dignity and grace, lovingkindness and several ability
She’s also clothed with tenacity, endurance, patience and humility
To be all that God intended for her to be..a mother to more children than just her own
Who knows how to adjust to pressure and adversity, regardless of what she may have previously been shown
So I salute you Mother, there isn’t another like you
I salute you Queen, because you are the best at what you do
Happy Mother’s Day!!

“The ‘Life’ Cycle”

On your marks, get ready…get set….GO!!

What are we really searching and longing for in this life?

Peace..we are searching and longing for peace.
To live free.
To be able to live and move within the bounds of our own scope of reality…of what life means to us, personally.
Really, to live and move without bounds…
Without restriction..we desire liberty.
To rule and reign over our own lives freely, as we were created to do
But we are bound by money, bound by debt, bound by status, bound by standards we were never meant to live up to
Bound by false expectations, bound by false accusations that rail against us daily, bound by ideologies and philosophies…
We are bound by unnecessary evils that we have been taught are necessary for our well-being and survival, but are really atrocities
They are really destroying us
Our lack of knowledge and understanding is destroying us
We become too prideful to use the resources available to help us because of how others may see us
Then stubbornness stagnates us and we become trapped by the very thing that was supposed to free us
Because when your mind has been conditioned, it’s easy for the gears to be twisted and turned by the manipulator
He can give you what you need then make you think you don’t need it, so you despise it only to find out you really needed it later
And this captivity becomes the norm and we follow the majority, who are also confounded
So we feel as though we “fit in” or “belong,” until we realize that we’re being surrounded
Like a bunch of lab mice in a cage running through the same maze over and over again
Running in a rat race that we’re never really going to win
And this is what most of us choose to live in, repeating this cycle of “life”
Chasing a peace and a freedom not attainable in this world because it is really only found in Christ

“Demise of the Wise”

The Demise of the Wise

Those who are wise in their own eyes

Speaking and believing their own lies

Dismiss the innocent cries and just quietly slide by

Bound up in old ties, soul ties and, compromising

Despising the youth of the Davids here to spark an uprising

Surprising the sheep, really a wolf in a disguise

Flashing fangs to intimidate when it’s too late to realize

When it’s too late to ask any “Why’s?” Too late to give anymore tries

Too late to let go of the bait as another soul dies

But discretion will preserve you and understanding will keep you

Don’t be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from the evil

And the devil cannot defeat you…

Wisdom is the principal thing but we must understand from where this wisdom derives

So keep God as your source and escape the demise of the wise

“My Heart!”

My Heart!

How desperately wicked and deceitful
Yet I wear it on my sleeve and share it with the wrong people
It’s been tattered and torn, filled with scorn and regretting
And fretting, upsetting my mind to the point that I was constantly forgetting
That this heart
Is supposed to be kept with all diligence
I have to guard it at all costs, even if it calls for being militant
Out of it, everything flows…it’s vital to my existence and well-being
Authorizing my mouth to speak, directing the course of my mind to my feet, even when my eyes are not seeing
All the facts
Sometimes your heart causes you to react in a manner that you can’t take back
But if it condemns me, God is greater- He is the strength when my heart fails
Let not your heart be troubled
Even abandoned ships continue to sail
The Lord is close to hearts that are broken, he mends the wounds and heals completely
The closer we draw to Him the less deceived our hearts will be, then we can love freely

“Looking At Life Now”

20151205_141443[1]Looking at life now
Made it to right now
But I don’t know how
Oh, I’m living for Christ now!
A stranger to “the life” now
Everyday I’m laying my life down
Dead to the world as YOU know it
Striving to obtain the incorruptible crown
And they wonder why I still run
I’m still running to obtain
Holding up a banner that’s blood-stained
Not ashamed of the name of Jesus
Because it’s by and for Him that my old nature is changed
And my new life came
I decree and declare I’m made righteous, I will never be the same
While they’re running after fame and vain things
Playing the same games
Putting themselves to an open shame
Giving the devil the blame
When it’s by their own choice
The Lord is speaking, but they won’t heed his voice
Only when something good happens- “Hey it’s God, everybody rejoice!”
The suns shines and rain falls on the just as well as the unjust
The difference is the will, the difference is the Spirit
We both speak “God,” but there’s a difference even though you can’t hear it
In God we trust
Which god?
Faith in God
Which god?
Thank you Jesus!
Who is He to you?
Just a popular, well-known name used to mean something good?
To me He is Lord, Saviour and King..everything..the reason why I sing
And I can’t even sing!
But there’s no shame in the joy His love can bring
So I sing, “Hallelujah, you’re my God!!”
And He loves it, coming from my heart
He accepts what comes from the heart
You may say you’ve never been taught
Well true repentance is a start
A change and a turning to move towards His direction
It takes a made up mind and consistency, but doesn’t require perfection
We’re already His selection, we just gotta choose what we know is right
Fight the good fight, hold tight, shine bright by His light, and seek to please Him and Him alone, in THIS life, now.
